The supposedly amicable split between Halle Berry and babydaddy Gabriel Aubry is getting a little less amicable. Despite working out a joint custody arrangement for daughter Nahla, the former couple is now gearing up for a custody battle as Berry prepares to shoot a movie in South Africa for three months. “The two reached a total stalemate” over who Nahla would stay with, “and it started getting nasty,” a source tells Radar.

Aubry is now considering a fight for permanent custody, the source says, adding that even though Berry hasn’t left yet, “it’s been pretty difficult for Gabriel to see Nahla the last few weeks,” but he “is determined to be a regular, full-time fixture in her life.” One other, painfully-awkward-sounding option involves Aubry tagging along to South Africa as a paid “nanny,” the source says.
