(Newser) – Remember Krystal Ball? She was last year's wackily-named congressional candidate who became well-known only after finding herself in the center of a sexy photo scandal. She lost the election by 29 percentage points, but also found a new career—as a professional pundit, the Washington Post reports. Ball, who started out appearing on Fox and CNN after her campaign ended, is now a fixture on MSNBC, where she has a contract to appear as a “Democratic strategist.”

She’s discussed topics ranging from the sexuality of female politicians, unemployment numbers, Libya, and labor policy. It appears she has become quite a future in political media, but the Post notes that her only actual political experience is her failed congressional bid—she’s never actually been employed by or even volunteered for any other campaign or politician. She says she has her photo scandal to thank: It “was what got me on to a lot of these programs and sort of got me in the loop, and then after the campaign was over, they just kept asking me back.” (Read more Krystal Ball stories.)
