Get excited, Virginia residents: White House gatecrasher and former Real Housewives of DC hubby Tareq Salahi is running for governor of your state! Salahi formally announced his candidacy in the most appropriate political medium possible, ie, TMZ. "I am troubled to see how our current political figureheads continue to waste taxpayer dollars," he explains. "I’m a big believer in limited government, keeping taxes, regulation and litigation low, and if I do win, everyone is invited to crash the inauguration!"

Salahi, of course, lost his Real Housewife and fellow gatecrasher Michaele when she ran off with the guitarist from Journey. Apparently that was no publicity stunt, seeing as it's seven months later and she's still not back—and though Salahi's candidacy may indeed be one, he has nevertheless filed a notarized declaration of candidacy form, on which he is listed as a Republican. But, notes the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Virginia state board of elections can't actually accept the form until next year. (More Tareq Salahi stories.)
