For the second time this season, Purdue shocked Wisconsin, this time downing the No. 8 Badgers 72-67 for their ninth straight win. Freshman Robbie Hummel put up a career-best 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, and fellow first-year JaJuan Johnson scored six points in the game's critical final minutes, reports the Indianapolis Star. Elsewhere in college hoops:

  • In a game that Cardinal coach Trent Johnson called simply "tough," No. 9 Stanford put away Oregon State 71-56 to extend its win streak to seven games.
  • Wisconsin-Green Bay put up a valiant fight against No. 10 Butler, but even with Terry Evans' 14 points and 15 rebounds the Phoenix didn't have enough fire and the Bulldogs won, 62-57.
