Kim Kardashian is making a lot of money off her mobile app, and novelist Ayelet Waldman says it's because the game "preys" on kids. In a series of frantic Twitter and Facebook posts Sunday, Waldman told the tale of how her 11-year-old son was "tricked" into spending $120 on in-game purchases in two days, even though she and her husband, fellow author Michael Chabon, had set up "purchase controls" that were supposed to cap their kids' spending at $20 per month. She accused the game of "bypassing" those controls, leading her son to "cry hysterically."

Apple ended up refunding the family, and Waldman—who implored fellow parents to delete the "pure evil" app and referred to the Kardashians, among other things, as "vile scumbag pigs"—says the "best thing about this disaster" is that her son "f---ing hates the Kardashians now." She adds, "Abe, age 11: Sobbing. 'I hate those goddamn Kardashians.' Also? 'I thought I was smarter than this.'" If you, like Abe, hate the Kardashians, then you will probably be bummed to hear that Kim, not Jimmy Kimmel, won a diaper-changing contest on Kimmel's show last night. (Kim is apparently "obsessed" with changing diapers, People reports.) She also recently wanted to adopt a Thai orphan, so there's that. (More Kim Kardashian stories.)
