Residents of Sanford, Fla., were a little surprised to look outside this week and see a monkey perched on their mailbox—eating the mail. Turns out Zeek the monkey had escaped from his home Monday morning and was ready to play with police responding to a call, Mashable reports. "Zeek had a little fun with our patrol car," Sanford police posted on Facebook with a video of Zeek pulling molding off the vehicle. In an update, cops said they kept Zeek distracted with a bottle of water until the monkey's owner came and picked him up, ABC News reports. According to Mashable, hunger was eating at the little guy. "Let Zeek's outburst be a lesson to all of us: before you head out for the day, eat some breakfast," the site says. (More monkey stories.)
