(Newser) – "Outwit, outplay, outlast" is the motto for CBS' hit reality show Survivor, but Alec Merlino and Kara Kay may not have done so hot on the first part. TMZ outs the two as contestants on season 37, which just finished filming in Fiji last week, but only after the two apparently outed themselves—a big no-no before the season airs. The two are said to have posted a picture of themselves on social media, Kay's arm draped over Merlino, with the caption "F--- it."

Production sources on the show say by doing so, they broke their confidentiality agreements and could be on the hook for up to $5 million. To make matters worse, the sources say all contestants were reminded right after the show wrapped last Wednesday not to do anything on social media that might give away their upcoming appearances on the show, including following each other online "and, obviously, posing together," per TMZ.
