President Trump wanted a Fourth of July extravaganza in DC, and he's promising to deliver nothing less now that the day is here. "People are coming from far and wide to join us today and tonight for what is turning out to be one of the biggest celebrations in the history of our Country," he tweeted in reference to his Salute to America event. An afternoon parade is underway, but the bigger events begin about 6:30pm, per an Interior Department release. Trump will speak from the Lincoln Memorial, and he's promising military flyovers. "Perhaps even Air Force One will do a low & loud sprint over the crowd," he wrote, advising people to get there or tune in before 6.

The event will be carried on C-SPAN and Fox News for sure, but Vox notes that other networks' plans are unclear. After the Lincoln Memorial speech comes the Capitol Fourth concert at 8, followed by a fireworks show at 9. One part of the day that won't please the president: Protesters will be out in force, along with a diaper-clad "Baby Trump" balloon that will take to the skies, notes the AP. (In addition to the military flyovers, Trump will have another symbol of military might on display—tanks.)
