Ariana Grande is facing backlash after making an ill-advised joke about a murdered child. As Page Six and Fox News explain, the controversy started when Grande's friend Doug Middlebrook posted a since-deleted Instagram photo of a tabloid featuring JonBenet Ramsey, who was murdered at age 6, with the caption: "No one has done more covers." Grande, 26, commented: "i cant WAIT for this to be your halloween look," and Middlebrook replied, "working on it already." Ultimately, fans called her out, leading her to tweet, "yeah no i deleted it very quickly and understand that it’s not at all funny. this was out of pocket and i sincerely apologize."

While some were quick to accept the singer's apology, others weren't feeling it: "girl it was up for a whole day... u didn’t delete it 'very quickly,'" wrote one. (Earlier this month, disturbing charges against a JonBenet photographer.)
