He probably wouldn’t merit a Washington appointment, but Joe Biden’s biggest Tinseltown fan has small-screen political experience, the Los Angeles Times reports. Richard Schiff, who won an Emmy for his role as White House communications director on West Wing, is stumping for his “real deal” candidate this week in Denver, and was among the first in Hollywood to praise the Obama-Biden ticket.

"I just realized that there was something special about the guy," Schiff said. "He's so dedicated to public service. And I love how personable he is." Biden’s Hollywood supporters in the past have ranged from Schiff’s West Wing costar Bradley Whitford, moguls Michael Eisner, Barry Diller, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, and musical mainstays like Barry Manilow and Cher.
