Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was found shot to death in the head today, along with an unidentified woman, at an apartment complex in Nashville, WTVF-TV reports. No suspects are in custody. McNair, 36, who played 13 NFL seasons before retiring last year, led the Titans to the Super Bowl in 1999 and was the league’s co-MVP in 2003.

In a statement, Titans owner Bud Adams said, “He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans.” Dozens of shocked fans began to gather at the crime scene, leaving flowers and sharing memories of the famed QB. “First Michael Jackson and now this,” said one woman.
