Khloe Kardashian has whale-phobia; Dane Cook thinks flu is scarier

(Newser) – Celebs are split on which is more outrageous: that the whale that killed a SeaWorld trainer this week is still alive, or that the whale was a captured and trained to perform in the first place. Reactions from Hollywood, as rounded up by E!:

  • Nick Cannon: “People need to stop messing with animals with the word 'KILLER.' Has anyone ever seen a Black Whale trainer?” he tweeted. His hashtag sums it up: #wedontdothatsh!t.
  • Dane Cook: “Lots of people concerned about this tragic killer whale situation. Please don't panic the flu still kills more people each year.”
  • Bob Barker: In a letter to the president of SeaWorld’s parent company, he recommends closing the parks in favor of sanctuaries and coastal marine animal refuges.

  • Pamela Anderson: A fellow PETA activist, she basically says “ditto Bob Barker.”
  • Reggie Bush: “This whale has killed 3 trainers in Orlando & they saying that nothing is gonna happen to the whale? So he just gonna keep killin people???” tweeted Reggie Bush, leading one to wonder what he would do to the whale.
  • Khloé Kardashian Odom: Responded to Bush, her sister’s boyfriend, with a predictably melodramatic, "OMG I saw that! How scary! Whales freak me out."
  • Laz Alonso: The Avatar actor summed it up in one of his more than 20 tweets about the tragedy. "Killer whales should not b in captivity & jumping around 4 ur selfish enjoyment. They're called 'Killer' 4 a reason dummies...”
