Perhaps inspired by Justin Bieber, who hit it big at the sweet young age of 15, American Idol will lower its eligibility age to that magical age for season 10. “A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16,” an executive producer says. The previous age limits were 16 to 28, reports USA Today, which notes that in seasons past, teen contestants were usually eliminated by the time the competition got to the Top Four.
