Washington's six turnovers were the difference in a sloppy loss to Tampa Bay, who lost scrappy gunslinger Jeff Garcia to a back injury for much of the game and gained only 15 yards in the second half. The Bucs defense also stopped Clinton Portis on fourth and inches on the Tampa Bay 5. In other NFC games:

  • San Francisco shocked division rival Arizona in overtime 37-31, forcing a Kurt Warner fumble in the end zone In OT to atone for bizarre first-half play-calling.
  • Seattle fell behind early, then took care of business against St. Louis, prevailing after a late Gus Frerotte red-zone fumble, 24-19.
