Alita: Battle Angel wasn't exactly blessed at the box office this President's Day weekend but did come in first with a domestic bow of $41.7 million, per the Hollywood Reporter. The CGI cyberpunk flick, with a high net budget of around $165 million, will need to overcome meh reviews and wow international audiences to avoid losing money. Filling out the top five are The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part ($62 million estimated through Monday), Isn't It Romantic ($23.6 million), What Men Want ($12.6 million), and Happy Death Day 2U ($11.5 million). Ticket sales have fallen nearly 60% from last year's President's Day weekend when Black Panther rocked a record-breaking $202 million bow, per Variety. (More box office stories.)
