Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary was aboard a boat with his wife and another person Saturday night when it crashed into a larger boat, killing two people on board the second boat, NBC News reports. Gary Poltash, 64, died at the scene on Ontario, Canada's Lake Joseph; Susanne Brito, 48, was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died of her injuries. According to TMZ, O'Leary owns the boat he was on at the time; it reportedly went over the bow of the larger boat and hit Poltash in the head. A source tells the gossip site there were eight people aboard the larger boat. Ontario police say three other people were injured, but were released after being treated at a hospital. They also say the incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed. O'Leary addressed the incident in a statement Wednesday.

"On late Saturday night, I was a passenger in a boat that was involved in a tragic collision with another watercraft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene," he said, adding that he would not comment further as the investigation is ongoing but that he is "devastated" over what happened. TMZ spoke to sources from both sides of the incident, and each side says it was the other boat that left the area immediately after the crash. In any case, police have since seized O'Leary's boat for forensic testing, according to TMZ's sources. The sources also disagree on whether the larger boat had its lights on, but sources connected to O'Leary say the Shark Tank star claims there is video of the incident that will prove the other boat had no lights on. Sources also say O'Leary's wife was driving their boat at the time, and that she passed a DUI test. (More Shark Tank stories.)
