One of the most wholesome game shows on TV sent ripples over the airwaves Thursday night with what some viewers at home called a rather "kinky" answer. Yahoo reports that Adam Goodell was the lucky contestant who banked $2,450 by solving the "Before and After" puzzle, where two phrases are combined with a common word in the middle. The answer that got people laughing, gasping, and complaining: "Brushing up on my Italian sausage." Reaction online was swift, with some calling the answer "lurid" and not worthy of a "family show," while others cracked up and embraced the innuendo.

"I brush up on my Italian sausage every night, twice on Saturday," was one response. Even host Pat Sajak couldn't resist a little snark. After Vanna did her thing and the letters turned to reveal the final phrase, Sajak said, "Uh ... it's a grilling expression." Fox News notes that the show experienced a similar hand-over-mouth moment last month, when contestant Marie Leo guessed that the answer to one of the puzzles was "chasing tail." It was actually "kicking back." (More Wheel of Fortune stories.)
