Famously egotistical rapper Kanye West is back in the studio—and comparing himself to Kobe Bryant and Maya Angelou in a typical-for-him, all-caps blog post. Unlike many rappers, he promises he won’t get worse with age, because “true poets get better,” he writes. There’s just one problem: “First of all Kanye, you’re a rapper. You’re not a poet,” writes Joe Anello on College News.

“Please refrain in the future from even putting your name in the same sentence as Maya Angelou unless it’s followed by ‘is nowhere near as culturally significant as,’” Anello continues—West’s post promised to “follow in the footsteps” of Angelou—along with Gil Scott-Heron, whose name he misspelled, and Nina Simone. The rapper also promised that his album will bring “the best I have to offer,” and a large dose of “truth and sincerity.”
