One day after his team completed a 5-11 season with a final victory over Pittsburgh, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti yesterday fired head coach Brian Billick, the Baltimore Sun reports. "I can't explain to you how tough a decision it is," Bisciotti said at a press conference this afternoon. Billick's entire staff was also fired.

"He did what he believes is best for the Ravens," said Billick. "We are and will remain friends." The coach's 9-year tenure with the Ravens was marked by high-powered defenses and lackluster offenses. Billick's Ravens had an 80-64 record, including a Super Bowl victory over the Giants in 2000.
