(Newser) – Yankees closer Mariano Rivera has pitched his last home game, and it was a tearjerker. Over 19 seasons, BleacherReport notes, he's become "one of the best Yankees in franchise history," with a record 652 saves, five World Series rings, a World Series MVP award, and 13 All-Star appearances. The Yankees sent him off in style: After Rivera quickly retired four batters in a row, Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte came to the mound to take the ball. "Hard to imagine anyone surpassing Mariano," tweeted Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Madden. "It's like DiMaggio's streak: untouchable." (Read more Mariano Rivera stories.)
