The US is still trying to extradite Roman Polanski from Poland, and the 81-year-old director will attend a hearing on the matter next Wednesday, his lawyer said today. Polanski pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a 13-year-old in 1977 but fled the US after serving 42 days in a plea deal because he feared the deal being overruled; he now lives in France but is planning to make a film in Poland. If the court decides to honor the extradition request, the country's justice minister must still decide whether to approve it, Reuters reports. (More Roman Polanski stories.)
