Senior guard Mike Green tied a career-high with 24 points as No. 12 Butler downed Cleveland State 70-55 to earn its fifth Horizon League championship. The Bulldogs last won the league in 2001, but have journeyed to the NCAA tournament twice since then as an at-large team. J'Nathan Bullock led the Vikings with 21 points and nine rebounds, reports the Associated Press.

Butler jumped out to a 20-6 lead, but the Vikings rallied and pulled to within four at the break. Cleveland State hung around early in the second half, but a 17-3 Bulldog run doomed any chances of victory. The Vikings are now left hoping for an at-large bid to make the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1986. (More basketball stories.)
